Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland in its polls manifesto of the State Assembly Elections 2013 has promised to construct all weather roads in all districts of the state. It also assured to give special focus on state highways, ensure safe, durable, quality roads of national standards, provide inter village connectivity under PMGSY, construction of foothill north –south corridor state highway from Mon to Dimapur via Mokokchung and Wokha districts.
The manifesto also assured to promote and encourage riverways transport and construction of new permanent state of art bridges. In education sector, the manifesto stated that the party would also establish medical, engineering, technical, polytechnic, nursing, information technology institutes.
It also promised to revamp state government run schools and colleges in the state, establish government colleges of science and arts stream in all district headquarters, establish Nagaland University campus in eastern Nagaland and also to ensure strict implementation of Sarva Shiksha Abiyan. Recently, BJP has announced that top BJP leaders led by its president Rajnath Singh including Sushma Swaraj, Nitin Gadkari, Varun Gandhi, Hema Malini, Navjot Singh Sidhu will be campaigning for the party in Nagaland. BJP has fielded 11 candidates with maximum numbers in Mon and Tuensang districts for February 23 polls.
