Kohima, December 3 (MExN): A contract farming agreement was signed on December 2 at Kisama Heritage Village between Brightcrop Agro Kolkata and Tuensang Organic Producer Company Ltd and Mon Organic Spice producer company Ltd for 20000 kg of organic Foxtail Millet under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for Northeast Region (MOVCDNER), scheme of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
The agreement was facilitated by Department of Agriculture, Government of Nagaland.
This agreement will provide a buy back assurance for the millets and encourage farmer to grow more millets in the state.
