DIMAPUR, JULY 24 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) Head Office expressed resentment over the 23rd July 2012 cabinet remarks to stick to its earlier decision. The NCSU stated that it would stick to its earlier demand to revoke the cabinet decision and release the payment pointing out that all bills have been certified by competent technical engineers, hence re-verification of bills by SIT question does not arise. It is nothing but playing delay tactics, alleged a press note issued by NCSU Vice President KL Setuo Rutsa and Secretary Imsunok Jamir.
The union stated that the pending bills was presented during assembly question hour on 17th March 2012 as per union representation submitted to Chief Minister of Nagaland during 37th Anniversary for early release of pending bills to registered members of NCSU. The NCSU stated that accordingly the CM assured union members to find out ways and means to clear up at the earliest possible time but till now no action has been taken.
Further the NCSU wanted to know that most of the contractors are doing the work as per 2010 schedule of rate (SOR) but there are few contractors doing the work as per 2030 SOR. It further stated that when NPWD department was yet to bring out 2012 SOR “then where is budget provision for those rate escalation and spending multi crores of rupees but whereas more than 4000 genuine registered members bills has been subsequently denied by the cabinet”. As such the NCSU wanted the government to clarify to the general public.
