Cooperation needed to make Zunheboto a ‘Model District’

Zunheboto, November 13 (MExN): The Zunheboto District Golden Jubilee celebration on November 13 was graced by Minister for Road & Bridges (R&B), G Kaito Aye as chief guest and Advisor, Food & Civil Supply (F&CS), Legal Metrology, K Tokugha Sukhalu as the Guest of honour.

Media cell of the organising committee in a press release stated, Advisor K Tokugha Sukhalu in his speech said, ‘as the representative of Zunheboto, the 10 Sumi MLAs including the representative from Dimapur wants to ensure the development of Zunheboto in the matters of infrastructure, education and health care’. He added that they want to make Zunheboto a ‘Model District’ but to do that they need cooperation from all the citizens.

Minister G Kaito Aye called upon the citizens of Zunheboto district to focus on agriculture and not depend only in the rice provided by the government. Kaito also urged the gathering to not be greedy for compensations and give the government the required allotments if they wish Zunheboto to grow.

Meanwhile, the President of Sumi Hoho submitted a representation urging the legislatures to construct a road to the newly bought cemetery.

ADC Zunheboto Moakamuzuk Tsudir led the dedicatory prayer programme. Dr Hutton Sümi, Pastor SBCZ did the dedicatory prayer and G Kaito Aye unveiled the Jubilee stone.

Earlier, invocation was pronounced by Rev Inakhu Chishi, Pastor ZTSBC, welcome speech and introduction by Kakugha Rotokha Co-Convenor Planning Board, special song by Jubilee Choir and vote of thanks by Athtong SDO Civil Zunheboto.

The Jubilee also witnessed various cultural presentations such as Sumi Folk Dance (men)  by Aghunato, war dance by Pughoboto, Ghile Qhesho by Atoizu, Thishele by Akuluto, Oh Oh Le by Suruhoto, Folk Dance Women by Satakha and Ighu by Zunheboto.
