Committee on Public Undertakings Chairman and others during the ‘On-the-Spot Verification’.
Kohima, November 13 (MExN): The Chairman of Committee on Public Undertakings (COPU) Imkong L Imchen accompanied by Committee Members including Hekani Jakhalu, Imkongmar, Dr Neisatuo Mero, Nuklutoshi, Y Lima Onen Chang and the Officials from the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat undertook an ‘On-the-Spot Verification’.
The committee visited Decorative & Dimensional Stone Plant, Chümoukedima; Nagaland Handloom & Handicraft Development Corporation Office, Dimapur; Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Office, Dimapur; and Hotel Saramati, Dimapur on November 10.
A press release from the NLA Secretariat stated that the Committee physically inspected the sites and Offices of the Corporations to take stock of the first-hand information of the problems faced by them. The Committee stated that a Government Corporation should not run on loss, but rather run profitably and stand on its own feet. The Committee advised them not to be complacent in their work place but rather be innovative. The Committee suggested to take stringent measure of overstaffing and also to avoid unnecessary appointment.
