Coraggio School Kohima celebrated its annual Thanksgiving Day and recognized its top-performing students from the HSLC 2024 batch on May 3.
The event was attended by the Chief Patron Vilelie Khamo and his wife, the Board of Directors led by Chairman Dr Hovithal Sothu, outgoing students and their parents, teachers and the present Class 10 students.
The programme was chaired by Kutsunuo Sote (Asst Teacher), Bible Reading & Invocation was done by Neikesenuo Bio, Member, Board of Director and Special Number by Medokonu Mekro and Rovisie-ü Kire (Class 10 - 2024).
Delivering the welcome address Kekhriengunuo Khamo, Administrator said “We are truly grateful for God’s unwavering grace, without which none of this would be possible.” She mentioned that the school has been maintaining a 100% pass percentage for the last 10 years and declared Gods guidance over all the successes.
She praised the tireless efforts of the teaching staff and the strong partnership with parents, emphasizing their vital roles in the students’ success.
A message of encouragement was also shared with the current Class 10 students, urging them to be inspired by their seniors and pursue excellence with determination.
The Commendation was handed out by Vilelie Khamo (Chief Patron).
Dr Hovithal Sothu who spoke on behalf of the Chief Patron, shared words of encouragement and gratitude to students, parents, and teachers. He reminded students that HSLC marks are a beginning, not an end, and urged them to remain humble, consistent, and respectful.
Dr. Sothu invited students to stand and applaud their parents, acknowledging the sacrifices made behind the scenes. He also extended heartfelt thanks to the school’s dedicated teachers and the Chief Patron for their relentless support and investment in quality education.
In his thanksgiving speech, Nokkai Delimth (Top 10) extended deep gratitude to the Chief Patron, school administrators, teachers, parents, and peers. With humility and faith, he acknowledged God’s grace and the crucial role played by mentors and family. Emphasizing values of resilience, unity, and consistent effort, Nokkai left a heartfelt message to his juniors, urging them to believe in themselves and strive for excellence.
Theja Thapo (Top 17), in an emotional and deeply personal speech, thanked God, teachers, and family for their steadfast support. He gave special mention to Madam Neike and Madam Annie, expressing profound gratitude for their unwavering belief in him. “Success isn’t just about marks or trophies,” he said. “It’s about giving your best, learning from your mistakes, and growing as a person.”
Delivering the vote of thanks, Seyiekhrienuo Kiso (Asst. Headmistress) expressed deep appreciation to the Almighty for granting the strength and grace to celebrate another successful year.
The celebration concluded with a prayer of unity and gratitude by Pastor Kho-o Pfukha, Member, BOD.
It may be noted for this year, Nokkai Delimth received the prestigious Vilelie Khamo Award, which includes a citation and a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh while Theja Thapo got a citation and Rs 1 lakh.
Additionally, the student who secured State Highest mark in FIT, Mercy Leno (100 marks) also received a cash prize of Rs 5,000. Along with them, two students Tolika K Ayemi (class 10) and Sentitoba Jamir (class 9) received the Lechale Khamo award where both of them are free scholarship student for securing first rank in class 8 & 9 in all the exams conducted by the school and NBSE.
Two teachers Chanele Apon (FIT teacher) and Asieno Sekhose (English) as recipients of the Achiever’s Award were felicitated with cash prizes along with teachers of all students who scored A1 in their respective subjects.
