COVID-19 in Nagaland: 53 new cases take total tally above 1500

With another big spike of 53 fresh COVID-19 cases, the total tally in Nagaland crossed the 1500- mark (1513) Wednesday afternoon, according to updates by State health authorities. 

“53 new cases of COVID-19 have been detected out of 453 test results received,” State Health and Family Welfare Minister, S Pangnyu Phom updated on Twitter.  

Out of the total new cases, 28 were reported from Dimapur, 19 from Kohima and 5 from Mon, he added. 

With this, the COVID-19 status in Nagaland as of July 29, 3:14 PM stood at: Total: 1513; Active: 931; and Recovered: 577.

While the State has witnessed 5 deaths among COVID-19 positive patients, official maintained that one is not due to the virus. Consequently, officially, there are 4 deaths so far.   

 “1 tested positive but death is not due to COVID-19,” a disclaimer on the Nagaland COVID-19 Dashboard stated.
