COVID-19: RPF NFR launches awareness campaign

Guwahati, January 18 (MExN): The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has launched a “massive awareness campaign to restrict the spread of COVID-19,” informed an official release.

The campaign includes awareness drives to promote wearing of masks, observing social distance and other precautionary measures at various stations and trains over NFR as well as distribution of free masks amongst railway passengers, it said. 

It is aimed at sensitising the railway passengers on the safety measures and precautions to be followed to restrict the spread of the current pandemic, added the release issued by NFR Chief Public Relations Officer, Guneet Kaur. 

Railway employees, passengers and stake holders are being educated about precautionary measures to be taken on COVID-19 prevention, it said. 

Frequency of announcements has been increased at railway stations about masking up, sanitising of hands, social distancing and other precautionary measures, it informed.

The RPF officers and staff are using banners and loud speakers to educate people at railway premises, it added.  

The NFR further urged commuters to observe the COVID-19 related safety measures and instructions of their respective states during their journey.
