COVID 19: Sensitisation on testing, vaccination continues in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, July 22 (MExN): In continuation of the effort to sensitise the community on COVID-19 testing and vaccination in Mokokchung, a medical team visited Longnak Sub-Centre and Chungtia Yimsen on July 17 and Changtongya Community Health Centre on July 19.

The team comprised of Dr Kika Longkumer, Addl Director DHFW; Dr Ayangla Saku, DPO(UIP&RCH);  Dr Temsuyanger,  ZLO & DMHP;  Jongpongtsungba, BPM Tsurangkong; and IEC personnel.

A press release from the Chief Medical Officer Office (CMO) stated that the resource persons addressed the participants on the urgent need of on time testing, strict SOP observance and vaccination to curb the invasion of COVID 19 and achieve herd immunity. 

Queries and myths on COVID 19 and vaccination were also addressed at the events  carried out in collaboration with the Sub-Divisional level administration, it said. 

All together 129 representatives from villages i.e. Nokon, Longnak, Merayim, Satsukba, Chungtiayimsen, Tsurangkong, Longpayimsen, Medemyim, Moayimti, Watiyim, Aosenden, Aokum, Akhoya, Kelingmen, Unger, Liroyim, Yaongyimsen and Wards from Changtongya namely, Longchara, Medical, PWD, Tsumokong, Electrical and Antsubo attended the programmes, it added. 

Pastors, APWs, Village council heads & members, VDB, SHGs, Ward representatives, Deacons, ASHAs, AWWs, Student leaders, Task Force and Staffs of Sub Centres and CHC also the programme, the release said. 

At Longnak and Chungtiayimsen, Atsung Walling, Block Magistrate, Tsürangkong also interacted with the village representatives. 

So far, the team from the CMO Office has covered more than 30 villages in Mokokchung District to sensitise the community on COVID 19 vaccination and early treatment, it added.
