COVID-19 Vaccination above 120% in Dimapur’s urban areas

Advisor Zhaleo Rio lauds DTF, others for feat at Dimapur DPDB

Dimapur, November 9 (MExN): The Dimapur district has achieved beyond 120% COVID-19 vaccination in the urban areas, informed Zhaleo Rio, Advisor to Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs, Government of Nagaland. 

Chairing the monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) of Dimapur, he further encouraged the members to achieve 100% even in the rural areas, informed the State DIPR. 

Rio further requested the District Task Force (DTF) and the officers for motivating and educating the public on the benefits of vaccination to ensure that the public get both doses of vaccination, it said. 

"Let us take this message as our official duty," Rio urged.

He also expressed appreciation to the members of Dimapur DTF for surpassing the overall 100% vaccination target in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in the district. 

Rio, who is also the chairperson of Dimapur DPDB also conveyed that the State’s High Power Committee on COVID-19,  during its meeting in Kohima, has also lauded on the achievements made by Dimapur DTF, Frontline workers, officers and all line departments with  regard to the successful vaccination drive.

While the report did not specify, it is understood that data pertains to vaccination above eligible mid-year projected population, taken as estimate before the start of the process. 

‘Full strength’ DPDB meeting

Meanwhile, Rio also extended appreciation to the members for attending the meeting in full strength and sought their cooperation, participation and support even in the days to come, the report said. 

Reviewing the last meeting minutes, the House recommended and approved the proposal for establishing a Paramedical Institute by Life Square Society at Neiphruolie Colony, Chumukedima Village, basing on the satisfactory joint verification report conducted by EAC Seithekiema, GBs and CMO Dimapur, it informed. 

The members also approved the proposal for changing the nomenclature of Excel Children School to Dzuvian School, it added. 

The agenda of the day included formation of District Level Screening and Verification Committee for society registration cases which was mooted by the Chairman and Vice Chairman, DPDB Dimapur. 

To this end, the Deputy Commissioner Dimapur Rajesh Soundarajan  explained that the committee would be headed by ADC, concern area administrative officers, and members from concerned departments. The committee would screen and verify the society registration proposals before putting up at the DPDB meeting, he said. 

Accordingly, the House agreed and approved the agenda.

Other agenda including Adoption of Vihokhu village to Model Village, change of nomenclature from Logos School to Footprints Academy, naming of Play Ground at Nihokhu EAC headquarter were asked to complete certain formalities before approval from the House, the report said. 

The Sericulture and Fisheries department also presented their activities at the meeting.
