Wokha, July 26 (MExN): A meeting of the District Task Force for COVID-19 was held at DC’s Conference Hall, Wokha on July 22. The meeting was presided by ADC Wokha, T Lankonsen Tsanglao and was attended by representatives from WDCCI and colony council chairmen of Wokha town.
According to a DIPR report, focusing on matters relating to management of COVID-19 pandemic, the ADC stressed on the importance of having proper coordination and efficient communication between the healthcare workers, frontline workers and the community, especially with regard to COVID-19 testing and vaccination.
Create WhatsApp group
For effective and timely dissemination of information from the war room, it was decided a WhatsApp group comprising of all Colony Council Chairmen and others FLWs would be created. To create awareness and thereby, remove the fear psychosis from the public regarding COVID-19 testing and vaccination, the meeting decided to make an IEC about the benefits of COVID-19 testing and vaccination and dissemination through the colony chairmen. In this regard, CMO and DPRO were entrusted to coordinate and work out modalities.
The chairman also requested the President, Wokha Town Colonies Union to conduct a meeting of all colony chairmen to chalk out strategies for effective management of COVID-19 related works and to assist the FLWs in contract tracing.
Random testing booth from July 27
Chief Medical Officer, Wokha, Dr CW Tungoe informed that for the convenience of the public, starting from July 27, random testing booth will be activated at Mt Tiyi Hall as an alternative to Dr Mhondamo Memorial District Hospital.
The CMO requested all the colonies chairmen to submit data of those who are not vaccinated and basing on the data, the vaccination drive would be carried out. It also decided to conduct random testing in all the colonies of Wokha town on need basis.
Check on schools violating SOPs
The DTF members deliberated upon the report that some schools/pre-schools were conducting classes for the students and the colony chairmen were entrusted to keep strict vigilance and to report to the DTF if they found and schools violating the SOPs of COVID-19.
To boost the morale and give proper attention and confidence of the affected families, the house decided to check in/call at least once in two days for all those recommended for home isolation. It was also reiterated that the families under home isolation can call the helpline numbers of Wokha District for any medical, psychological or emotional support. The helpline numbers will be shared to the affected families by the concerned colony chairman.
