Nagaland’s Health & Family Welfare Minister, S Pangnyu Phom informed that COVID vaccination is voluntary in Nagaland.
Replying to MLA Chotisuh Sazo in the recently concluded 8th session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, the minister made the stand clear that COVID vaccination is not mandatory in Nagaland.
It is pertinent to mention that along with the rest of the country, the state has launched mass Covid Vaccination drives, he said.
The state has administered a total of 7,67,535 doses of COVID-19 vaccines as of 30th July 2021 covering about 49.3% for the target of 1st dose and 12% for the target of 2nd dose.
The minister said that no serious adverse effects due to COVID vaccination have been reported in the state.
