Chümoukedima, August 1 (MExN): The Chakhroma Public Organization (CPO) has appealed to all Angami villagers, Churches and the various communities and tribal organizations in Chakhroma area to come forward in large numbers on August 17 at Rev Zhaviu Khro Memorial Hospital, near Saturday Bazaar, Chümoukedima, from 9.00 am onwards to participate in the blood donation camp.
The camp is jointly organised by CPO and Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research, 4th Mile, Chümoukedima.
The CPO in a press release stated that the camp is organised with the intent to inculcate the habit of donating Blood regularly by healthy citizens every four months since the blood in a healthy person will re-generate itself after 90 days; Create awareness that donating blood under expert medical supervision is quite safe; Instill in the mindset of the people that Blood donation by healthy people can and will save precious lives in need of urgent blood transfusion; Impress upon the people that lives of patients in ICUs can be saved by blood donated by donors belonging to different race, caste or creed; and commemorate the 150th Year of formation of the CPO this year.
