‘CRC NNC is the mandated body of Chakhesang people’

Dimapur, February 19 (MExN): Countering the rejoinder of the Working Committee (WC) of the NNPGs that appeared in the local dailies, the Chakhesang Region Council (CRC) of the NNC said that they are the “mandated body of the Chakhesang people.”

“In the Naga family the Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) upholds its political stand to support the NNC and the Plebiscite of May 16, 1951 up to date,” stated Nüveta Nakro, President, CRC, NNC in a press release today.
It termed as “ridiculous,” the claim of the WC, NNPGs that the “essence and spirit of May 16,1951 was retained and entrenched in the agreed principle signed with GOI on November 17, 2017.”

Quite contrary to this claim, as reported in the Times of Assam on December 20, 2018, the CRC NNC maintained that “RN Ravi warned that there will be no more new talks with NE militant groups conditionally or unconditionally, they have no option but to either keep fighting and die or surrender.”

Stating that Ravi clearly pointed out the framework agreement with NSCN (IM) was within the constitution of India, the CRC NNC reiterated that this applied to all other groups and neighboring states and not just the Naga Group alone, according to Ravi.

“Any Chakhesang in the WC of NNPGs do not represent the Chakhesang people. The Chakhesang Regional Council will never join the WC, NNPGs to accept a surrendered solution in the Naga Cause.” It said.
