CRTTU bandh protests pathetic roads

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 2 (MExN): Normal life was affected at Chozuba range from October 30 to November 1 due to a bandh called by the Chozuba Range Taxi and Truck Union (CRTTU) against the state government’s failure to maintain the roads in their region. Hundreds of taxis and trucks stayed off the roads in protest. The organization has demanded that the government address the condition of the Chakhabama-Zunheboto Highway and the Kohima-Chozuba via Kijumetuoma-Khusomi Village road.

A press note issued by the organisation cautioned that it would be compelled to impose a total bandh if the government fails to redress the road condition within 20 days with effect from November 2. Stating that the highway was in a “pathetic and unusable condition,” the organization said the public of the range bear lots of hardship due to blocked roads.
