CSU request govt to review rationalization of teachers

Kohima, April 8 (MExN): The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) today expressed discontentment over the recent development which failed to “administer the interest of the student's community” and requested the government to review rationalization of teachers under Phek district. This was in regard to the Government Order dated 30th March 2022 vide No. DSE/ Rationalization/12/133/2021.

“While appreciating the efforts of the department for its expedition to address the grievances of the students, the Union would like to state that, the rationalization and issues faced by the government school are neglected. Whereby the shortage of teachers in many schools is yet to be materialized,” CSU President, Avezo Kevin Kapu and General Secretary, Pei Kezo stated in a letter addressed to Commissioner & Secretary, Department of School Education, Nagaland.

The union stated that while reviewing the recent rationalization under Phek District, it found many cases where the teachers are being redeployed to other schools though there is a clear indication of teachers shortage in his/her former posting.

In this, the CSU appealed the department to review and streamline the procedure of rationalization comprehensively and to prioritize on the strength of the students and teachers in the concerned school; approaching retirement of teachers; inadequacy of teachers with respect to Standard Staffing Pattern. “The Union anticipates immediate response and necessary action without which the Union shall take its own course of action,” it stated.

Meanwhile, in another press note, the CSU notified all the teachers under its jurisdiction whosesoever name had been enlisted by the government for transfer and redeployment to other schools vide government Order No. DSE/Rationalization/12-113/ 2021/ 352 dated 30th March 2022 to restrain from abiding by the stated order until the issue is reviewed by the department.

This is necessitated keeping in mind the unreasonable rationalization policy which is due to affect the normal functions of many schools thereby which will victimize the government school students without proportionate strength of the teachers, stated CSU President, Avezo Kevin Kapu and General Secretary, Pei Kezo.

The union requested all the concern teachers to remain in their previous place of posting before the issue is logically settled with the department by the union.
