CSUD appeals govt to release CM’s special package

DIMAPUR, MAY 31 (MExN): The Chakhesang Students’ Union, Delhi (CSUD) has appealed to the Nagaland Government for release of the Chief Minister’s Special Package at the earliest to the stranded citizens.

“The current status of this package is closed for fresh applications and complaints, but there are many applicants whose names, although are in the beneficiary list are yet to receive the benefits,” a press release from the CSUD stated.

It also appealed to the government to reconsider the rejected list of the applicants. There are many who could not afford smart phones to receive information and avail of the assistance or fill up the relief application forms on time, it added.

The union further said that applicants should also be able to provide the bank account of their siblings, spouses or parents in cases where their passbook is either lost, misplaced or their accounts being inactive, deactivated or non-transactional due to the extended period of non usage. Moreover, majority of the applicants possesses salary accounts which were digitally created and doesn’t require the traditional hard copy passbook, it informed.

It asked the government to help every single applicant with the true intention of helping “instead of finding ways and means to reject as many applications as possible by citing unreasonable claims.”

“Formalities involved and the documents required for submission in the procedure for disbursement of funds should be minimal and flexible with maximum ethical and humanitarian considerations being applied in cases of unavailability of documents as there are community organisations, churches and student bodies in every city to verify and confirm the claim of the applicants whenever required,” it added.
