KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 10 (MExN): Cultural day took center stage on the second day of the ongoing Olivian Fest 2023, which is being held under the theme, "Harmonising Arts, Igniting Passion," at Mt. Olive College Kohima (MOCK). The day's festivities showcased vibrant celebrations of diverse cultures through folk dances, traditional songs, and an array of traditional attires.

Addressing the gathering, Tokheni Sema, Chairperson and Managing Director of MOCK's governing body, underscored the significance of celebrating diversity. She urged students to embrace differences, cultivating an inclusive environment that transcends tribal distinctions. Sema called for active student engagement, emphasizing the importance of building connections beyond tribal lines to foster unity and understanding.

Kuputo Achumi, Deputy Director of the Department of Rural Development, Nagaland, graced the cultural day as the guest speaker. He urged students to embrace their culture with pride, valuing and preserving the God-given heritage.

Achumi highlighted the five aspects of culture- language, values and beliefs, symbols, rituals, and norms, urging students to understand the significance of their culture and traditions.

The event was graced by Neibulie Metha, Chairman of Daklane Panchayat, and Khevito T Shohe, Member of MOCK's governing body, along with members of the alumni association. The three-day Olivian Fest is set to conclude on Friday.
