The National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets from 17 states of the country today performed at the cultural extravaganza in the ongoing Special National Integration camp of NCC at the Patkai Christian College, Seithekima, Chumukedima.
In the presence of minister for youth resources & sports Merentoshi Jamir, the programme started with a welcome address by Maj. Gen. R.K. Sharma, Additional DG, NCC Directorate (NER) Shillong. Those performed at the cultural extravaganza included; solo song- Janmabhumi Maa Bharat Varsh, Odisha Directorate, folk dance- TN, T & AN&N Directorate, trumpet piece (Malaika)- Joven D’ Souza (Karnataka & Goa Directorate), folk dance- Ao Naga (NER Kohima Group), solo dance (Sonnie Di Pakhi)- Dallu Slathia (J&K Directorate), group song- Sadar Lou Banailo More Boiragi (West Bengal & Sikkim Directorate), group dance- traditional festival dance (Andhra Pradesh Directorate), solo song- price tag (NER Kohima group), solo dance (Chirmi)- Kirti Solanki (Rajasthan Directorate), folk dance- Dandiya (Gujarat Directorate).
Mentionably, there are about 13 lakh plus NCC cadets in entire India including both junior and senior cadets with 76,804 from North East and 8699 cadets from Nagaland.
