Kohima, June 28 (MExN): The Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA) organised a send-off ceremony on Wednesday for Venuzo Dawhuo and Vekhozo, who are leaving to Bloomington, Indianapolis USA, to participate in the 12th Biennial Convention of Chin Youth Organization of North America (CYONA) celebrating cultural exchange through wrestling from June 30 to July 3. 

Venuzo Dawhuo and Vekhozo are taking part on invitation of CYONA and under the aegis of CWA. 

Dawhuo, the reigning Champion of Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA), will be competing with the best Chin wrestlers during the Convention which is part of festival for the Chin people in USA. Dawhuo is also expected to have challengers wrestling bouts on July 8 with the likes of Rung Lian Ceu, Biak etc.

CWA in a press release stated that Rung Lian Ceu participated in 2019 Open Naga Wrestling Championship at Kohima lost to Venuzo Dawhuo in the semi final. 

Dawhuo will be accompanied by his Manager and Coach, Vekhozo. They left Kohima this morning right after the short send-off ceremony to Dimapur and will en-route flight to Chicago from New Delhi on June 29. Coach Vekhozo expressed hope that this initiative will open the door for other upcoming wrestlers to expose themselves to international communities with greater visions in the coming days.

The send-off ceremony was attended by CWA Officials, representatives from Chokri Area Wrestling Association (CAWA), Phek Area Wrestling Association (PAWA), Chakhesang NWA Officials, relatives and well-wishers of Venuzo Dawhuo and Vekhozo.

The CWA has appealed to all the wrestling lovers and the entire Naga community to uphold them in prayers and expect good performance. They are expected to return to Nagaland by July 12.
