
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 20 (MExN): In order to create awareness and encourage individuals, organizations and the business community on the importance of renewable and sustainable energy, ‘Ride to recharge’ is being organized on the occasion of World Tourism Day here in Nagaland. The last date for the submission of forms for the “Ride to Recharge” Cycling event is 22nd September 2012. The forms are available at Little Village Cycle Store at Notun Bosti.
“Ride to recharge” is being organized by Alaphra Tourism, travel and tourism division of Alaphra Group, based in Dimapur on the 26th and 27th of September 2012 to Celebrate “The World Tourism Day” under the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Energy”. This event is endorsed by the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland. This event will also highlight the benefits of cycling for people to achieve good health and fitness.
This is first such event is being organized in Nagaland. This awareness cycling rally is for everyone and there are no registration charges. There are cyclist participating from others states. The course begins at Midway Resort, Tsiepama to Notun Basti Dimapur, covering 40km of scenic mountain trail, Valleys, fields, rivers, and forests.
The event will be flagged off by Shri. R.G Lyngdoh, CEO of LIFCOM and former Home Minister of Meghalaya at 9 am from Midway Resort and will end up at little village cycle shop in Nuton Bosti, Dimapur. The post-ride celebration will be graced by Shri. Himato Zhimomi (IFS), Commissioner & Secretary, Tourism.
