‘D’ Certificate Coaching Course under lead educator, Shakti Singh from All India Football Federation (AIFF) was successfully launched at Imkongmeren Sports Complex in the presence of officials from Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) and Rev Ponen Longchar, Pastor of Mokokchung Town Baptist Church on July 25 morning.
The course is designed for six days with practical lessons in the field and theory classes, which are indoors. After the completion of training, those candidates who qualify in both the theory and practical exams will be awarded the AIFF “D” Coaching Certificate.
Altogether, 17 male and 5 female candidates are participating in this program, one from Zunheboto district and the rest from Mokokchung district.
According to Aretshilu, Vice President MDFA, this “D” Coaching Certificate Course is a nascent project in the district.
With only four trained coaches registered under MDFA thus far, he is optimistic that the new batch of coaches will play a vital role in the development of players and the game under MDFA. The association assured necessary support to the aspiring coaches after the training programme.
Rev Ponen Longchar, Pastor MTBA thanked the MDFA and NFA for recommending the project to AIFF without which it would not have been a success. He wished the participants success and prayed for divine blessings. The camp is organized and sponsored by Mokokchung Town Baptist Church with the motive of developing skills and encouraging those who aspire to become football coaches.
