DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 4 (MExN): The Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (DAYO) has expressed gratitude towards the Police Commissionerate of Dimapur for their timely intervention in arresting one of the accused in a forceful extortion case at the Dimapur Railway Station.
A press release issued by DAYO stated that railway station and airports are supposed to be among the most secured public places in India. However, in the case of Dimapur Railway Station where extortionists in the guise of agencies freely operate, the security of these places becomes highly questionable, it stated.
The sequence of how the events unfolded in this particular case makes one to wonder if the present security arrangement is compromised, the DAYO alleged while demanding that it should be immediately revamped for the safely of the business community and passengers in general.
The DAYO also said it stand with the Eastern Naga Students' Federation (ENSF) in condemning the unlawful seizure and illegal extortion demand from Naga Farmers Group (NFG) by members of an agency that wanted to monopolize the entire transportation by railways, agricultural produce procured officially from Nagaland State Agri Marketing Board.
It vowed not to remain a mere spectator when it comes to harassment of fellow Nagas by anti social elements who are against the spirit of free enterprise.
DAYO will join hands with any organisations and CSOs to fight against the existing illegal syndicates/agencies and monopolies that hampers the growth of entrepreneurship among young Nagas youths which should be confronted and condemned by one and all, it stated.
Towards this, DAYO has appealed the investigating team to arrest the rest of the remaining culprits at the earliest so that justice is served and illegal agencies are done away with from our Naga society.
