The two-day Phase 1 of Euphoria 12th edition of the Don Bosco College, Kohima (DBCK) under the theme “Ethereal: Between Dreams & Reality” concluded on October 9.
Dr Andrew Ahoto Sema, Chairman of Livingstone Foundation International and President of Nagaland Schools’ Alliance (NSA), graced the occasion as the special guest.
Addressing the gathering, Ahoto encouraged the students to dream big and work towards meaningful goals rather than remaining in the same position.
He highlighted the big Three S’s in relation to money and success- Selfish, Satisfied and Service. He explained that people should not use their success only for themselves or remain satisfied with their own achievements, but should use their success to serve and help others.
He further emphasized on the three P’s - Problem, identifying of problem and solving problem.
He urged the students to become a good problem solver.
He also reminded the students to maintain healthy competition without selfishness.
He urged them to sow the seeds for a better future by carrying forward their legacy and sharing their success with others.
He stressed the importance of humanity, unity and service, regardless of differences.
Through the parable of the weed, he highlighted the importance of distinguishing between good and bad influence and choosing the right friends and environments.
Further, he reminded the students that they are responsible for creating their own future and encouraged them to remain cheerful, practice good manners, respect others and strive to become successful and responsible leaders.
The ceremony was led by Eyilobeni Ovung, Literary & Magazine Secretary, DBCK SF while Atsongnye K J, General Secretary, DBCK SF delivered welcome address. Musical performance was presented by Lydia, Department of Political Science and Menangkokla, Department of English. Vote of thanks was proposed by Sejungli K Sangtam, Asst General Secretary, DBCK SF, while prayers were offered by Rev Fr Dr Xavier Mattam, Rector, DBCK and Lhikhwetso Kapfo, Asst Professor, Department of Political Science.
