Kiphire, March 14 (DIPR): In view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha Election 2014, DC & District Election Officer (DEO) Kiphire, Neposo Theluo has informed that training for Presiding & Polling Officers under Kiphire district has been scheduled as below:
All the heads of offices have been directed to inform their respective employees assigned as Presiding & Polling Officers to attend the training without fail. If any assigned officer fails to attend the training, the responsibility will be borne by respective heads of the offices and disciplinary action will be initiated as per the provision of Section 134 of Representation of People Act 1951 against the absentees.
Further, all the grade-IV staff appointed for Election duty have been asked to report to Election Office on March 26, 11:00 am with 2 (two) copies of passport size photos without fail.
Neposo Theluo also informed all licensed Arms holders of Kiphire district to deposit their arms to the respective Post Commander Village Guards (V.G) in case of villages and to the OC/PS in case of towns on or before March 20. If anybody is found carrying fire arms after the last date of submission, the arms shall be seized and necessary action will be initiated as per the provision of law.
The DC & DEO also prohibited carrying and selling of illicit liquor with immediate effect as per the direction of Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, vide letter No.ELE/CDT-173/2013 (part-1) dated 5th March 2014, stating anybody found violating this order shall be penalized as per appropriate section of law.
