
KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 8 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Shanavas C, IAS issued an order today declaring certain areas as infected and surveillance zones following the detection of African Swine Fever (ASF) in various locations of Kohima district. The DC’s order informed that Kezocha (1 km radius of infected premises) has been declared an infected zone; while the 10 km radius from the infected premises (9 km radius outside the infected zone) has been declared as a surveillance zone. The order also informed the public to strictly adhere to the following restrictions in the aforementioned locations until further order. The order banned pig slaughter, import and export of pigs and piglets, and transportation of pigs and pork in the areas.
