DC Kohima takes stock of deplorable road condition

Kohima, July 13 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, held a meeting with the Sr. Superintendent of Police, Kohima, KMC, KCCI, EE (R&B), South Division, EE (R&B) Chiephobozou and Administrative Officers on July 11 to take stock of the deteriorating condition of Dimapur-Kohima road and the resultant effects on movement of vehicles and supply of essential commodities.  

Deputy Commissioner in the meeting directed EE (R&B), South Division to carry out the necessary maintenance work on Zubza-Kiruphema road to ensure that the road is kept pliable. The DC also directed EE (R&B), Chiephobozou to carry out necessary maintenance work along Chieswema-Peducha (10 miles) road, and carry out strengthening work to lower Dzudza Bridge which is at risk of caving in due to heavy movement of traffic.  

The DC also took stock of the availability of essential commodities in Kohima town and asked the Administration, KMC and KCCI representatives to ensure availability of the same. The meeting further directed all concern to avoid indulging in hoarding of essential commodities, non-compliance of which will lead to actions under the relevant sections of the law. Requesting the public not to panic, the meeting also informed the public of the sufficient availability of essential commodities in the market and steps taken towards the same.
