DC Mokokchung stresses to ensure free and fair election

Mokokchung, January 10 (MExN): Review meeting with political parties for Final Publication of Electoral Roll was held at DC’s Conference Room, Mokokchung on January 10. 

A DIPR report stated that in his short speech, the Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji welcomed the representatives of all political parties and emphasised the importance of transparency and collaboration in ensuring a free and fair election.

The DC reiterated the election office’s commitment to conducting impartial and transparent elections. He further appealed all political parties to promote peaceful and fair electoral practice while ensuring compliance with the Election Commission’s guidelines.

In his brief review on final Publication of Electoral Roll, the ADC provided an overview of the process leading to the final publication of the Electoral Roll, highlighting the key points with details on additions, deletions, and corrections during the revision process. 

The ADC also highlighted the steps taken including field verifications and grievance redressed mechanisms to ensure accuracy, and the efforts to include special categories of voters, such as senior citizens, PwDs, and first time voters. The ADC also informed the political parties that the Final copy of the Electoral Roll is available for inspection at the ADC office, Mokokchung.

In another update, the ADC Mokokchung, Chumlamo Humtsoe issued a public notification informing that the list of amendments to the draft publication of Electoral Roll for the 21-Tuli, 22-Arkakong, 23-Impur, 24-Angetyongpang, 25-Mongoya, 26-Aonglenden, 27- Mokokchung Town, 28- Koridang, 29-Jangpetkong and 30- Alongdaki Assembly Constituency has been prepared with reference to 01-01-2025 as qualifying date and in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rule, 1960.

A copy of the set roll together with the said list of amendments has been published and will be available for inspection at ADC office, Mokokchung.
