DIMAPUR FEB21(MExN):The Dataquest e-Governance Award has nominated Abhishek Singh, DC Mokokchung, for implementing e-Modop e-Governance in Mokokchung well as implementing Janchetna Project in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh, during his assignment there in 2005.
Dataquest is the premier IT magazine of India and its jury led by the Chairperson Bibek Debroy nominated Abhishak Singh as one of the three e-Governance Champions from the Eastern region for the year 2007.
Abhishek Singh has also been invited by Dataquest Magazine to be a Key Speaker at the Dataquest e-Gov Summit, being organized in Delhi on March 1, 2007 aimed at creating “Strategies for Next-Gen Government”.
The e-Modop project, started by Abhishek Singh in the form of Public Grievance Call Centre has already been launched in Mokokchung, whereby people from anywhere can file their grievances with the DC through a simple telephone call. All they have to do is dial 0369 2228677 and after they hear the initial announcement, state their problem, address and name. Thereafter the DC’s office will follows up their case and ensures redressal of the complaint.
This facility which is operational 24 hours a day and 7 days a week has become very popular in Mokokchung. The e-Modop project is also available on line with the websimilenmkg@te www.emodop.org. and plans are on to launch other facilities on e-Modop like issuing of online ILPs, ST certificates, Indigenous Certificates etc. The implemention of e-Modop for Electricty, Water, Telephone Bills and others services are also hopeful of being introduced soon. This project has great potential of ensuring efficient delivery of services and also making the CICs viable since they serve as the front offices for delivery of services and the hopefully project will be extended to other parts of the state soon bringing the government closer to the people.
