Dimapur, November 25 (MExN): The Dimapur District Football Association (DDFA), instead of the annual league, will be hosting a 2-day penalty shootout tournament on December 14 and 15.
The Association resolved the same during its meeting on November 18, informed a press release received here.
The decision was taken as the DDFA has not been able to host the yearly Dimapur Football League due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, it said.
It also reminded the club or associations that registration, re-affiliation and players registration have been started and requested them to register on or before December 15.
Meanwhile, the DDFA informed that the first prize for penalty shootout tournament will be Rs 1, 00,000 while the second prize winner will walk away home with Rs 50,000.
The best goal keeper will also be awarded Rs 5,000.
The registration fee for the tournament is Rs 4,000.
