DDLSA conducts essay contest on child rights

Dimapur, October 28 (MExN): As per directives from the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA), the Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) as part of the Common Action Plan organised essay competition on ‘Child Rights’ at Herbert Spencer High School, Dimapur on October 25.  

Ajongba Imchen, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Dimapur and Secretary of DDLSA, in his keynote address spoke on the importance of Child Rights and how free legal aid has been provided to the weaker sections of the society by not denying justice to any citizen, informed a press release.  

He further spoke on persons eligible to receive free legal services like members of ST/SC, victims of human trafficking, women and child, and persons having annual income of Rs. 1 lakh per annum and senior citizens whose income is below Rs. 2 lakh. Altogether, 34 students participated in the competition. Dipika bagged first position, Md. Aslam came second, and Jakar Akhtar secured the third position.  

The programme was chaired by Zuchumbeni, Panel Lawyer, DDLSA, while welcome address was delivered by Robinson Singh, Headmaster, Herbert Spencer High School, Dimapur.
