DDMA Kohima distribute reliefs for flash flood victims

Kohima, October 25 (MExN): The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Kohima along with Pukhayi Sumi, Adviser, NSDMA and NSDMA officials visited the affected site at Khuzama due to flash flood on October, 23.  

As per the reports received from the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Kohima, four houses were fully damaged with few houses being partially damaged. There were also reports that paddy fields were damaged but the exact number of damaged cases could not be ascertained at the time of the visit.  

The Adviser expressed his empathy over the affected families who have been rendered homeless due to this uncertainty of natural calamity. He announced that the department has arranged monetary reliefs to be given to the affected house owners as a first priority basis. The team distributed reliefs to the affected families under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) as per the SDRF norms.  

Johnny Ruangmei, OSD, NSDMA also exhorted the community members gathered at the incident site. The chairman, Khuzama Village Council (KVC) expressed his gratitude to the visiting officials for their timely assistance and visit.
