The delegation with the Manipur CM, N. Biren Singh.
UKHRUL, OCTOBER 26 (MExN): A joint delegation of Tangkhul Naga Aze Longphang (TNAL), Tribal Youth Development Foundation (TYDF) and Phungyar Constituency BJP Mandal met the Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on October 24. According to a press release, the delegation apprised the CM of the urgent need to Ramva (Lambui) NH 202 to Chongdan Junction NH 102A as National Highways. The delegation submitted a proposal letter to take it up the aforementioned road as a priority programme of the state government.   The delegation in its representation to the CM emphasised that the road besides passing through the heart of Ukhrul as “the most viable and shortest route connecting to Moreh International Trade Centre.” “The road which otherwise supposed to be one of the busiest in the state is witnessing low volume of traffic due to poor maintenance,” read the representation while adding that the government developing the road will usher in rapid economic development and also promote social mobility, “which ultimately will bring more understanding and peaceful co-existence of the diverse ethnic groups of the state.”   Meanwhile, a joint press statement about the meeting quoted the CM as assuring the delegation that upgrading the proposed road falls within “the vision of his government to bring all round development in the hills and the valley areas.”
