25th Loyem Memorial Senior Soccer Open Championship
TUENSANG, OCTOBER 14 (MExN): DEF Tuensang trounced Vetao Ayie FC 3-0 in the Pool C match played on Saturday at the 25th Loyem Memorial Senior Soccer Open Championship underway at Tuensang.
The first goal for DEF Tuensang came through a spot-kick penalty in the 17th minute of the first half, which was converted by Khuyang. It was quickly followed with Bele extending the lead in the 21st minute. Khuyang returned in the 28th minute to strike home the third. Early on in the first half, Mono Lam of Vetao Ayie was received a cautioning.
In the Pool B encounter between Khulioh King FC and High Hill Club, the first goal was scored by Thsangshimong of High Hill Club in the 3rd minute of the first half through a penalty. The lead was short-lived as Franky equalized for Khulioh King in the 8th minute.
The deadlock was broken by Khulioh King’s Nungsang in the 29th minute and continued to maintain the lead till the break. The lead was further extended by a strike from Benjamin in the second-half to end the match 3-1.
