D.El.Ed admission forms available for Kohima dist

Kohima, February 9: In pursuance of government’s notification NO.EDS/SCERT-6/96 dated January 24, 2014 on the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the State of Nagaland and National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), New Delhi to introduce two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) through distance mode for untrained regular in-service teachers,  District Education Officer, Kohima, Senthang has informed all concerned that application forms for the same for Kohima district are being made available in three sub-divisional education officers, namely Kohima, Chiephobozou and Tseminyu with immediate effect.

According to the MoU, the course will be conducted jointly by NIOS and SCERT for those appointed after September 3, 2001 and not having professional qualification like B.Ed./D.El.Ed./PSTE/CPTE. The course is compulsory for the aforesaid teachers and has to be completed within three years beginning April, 2014 till March, 2017, failing which teachers will be compelled to go on voluntary retirement.     

The filled-in application forms should be submitted by desiring candidates strictly following the conditions of the aforementioned government notification through respective SDEOs to reach the District Education Officer, Kohima latest by February 28 for onward submission, the officer added.
