
DIMAPUR, APRIL 28 (MExN): Delhi Ao Kaketshir Telongjem (DAKT) held its annual General Body Meeting (GBM) on April 25 at Yamuna RWA Office, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.
During the meeting, 22 new office bearers were nominated to serve the union for the term 2025-2026.
Yimjungjungshi Sanglir from Molungyimsen Village was renominated as President for a second consecutive term. In his address, he attributed all the Union’s achievements to the grace and guidance of God.
He thanked all the well-wishers, both in Delhi and back home, for their constant prayers and support, which he noted as vital to the success of the Union’s activities.
Sanglir lauded the unity, dedication and selfless efforts of his fellow colleagues who have been instrumental in carrying forward the Union’s vision and mission.
He invoked God’s guidance and humbly sought the prayers and encouragement of the wider community.
He urged all Ao students in Delhi to actively register with the Union, remain united and strive to be a source of strength and pride for our people back home.
The release also mentioned that during this tenure, an Admission Help Desk has been set up to assist students from Nagaland in securing college admissions and accommodations in Delhi. During the term, it said more than 100 students were assisted which not only included Ao community but other Naga communities.
Additionally, DAKT extended medical assistance to patients from Nagaland and within Delhi, supported students in distress and carried out charity drives to support those in need.
In furthering our cultural identity and unity, DAKT also organized a number of social and cultural events, proudly promoting our rich heritage.
The annual sports meet was another key highlight, fostering unity and community spirit among students.
The meeting also included a felicitation ceremony to honour the outgoing batch of office bearers for their tireless service to the Union and the community.
A word of encouragement was delivered by Dr. Imkongmeren Longchar, General Secretary of Delhi Ao Senso Telongjem (DAST).
