Dimapur, May 21 (MExN): The Supreme Court on May 4 has heard the councils on the Special Leave Petition filed against the PIL of the Chakhesang Public Organization and others on the issue of delimitation in Nagaland. On the hearing held, the Delimitation Commission has sought permission to withdraw the Special Leave Petitions in view of the Delimitation Amendment Act 2008, which “differed” the delimitation exercise in four north-eastern states and Jharkhand. The Chakhesang Public organization today said in a communiqué from its executives that the Supreme Court has granted permission sought by the council for the Delimitation Commission of India. The CPO hopes that the case will finally be disposed at the earliest and justice will be served to all.
