Kohima, September 5 (MExN): The final and the 12th lap of demand driven skill development training in construction sector for multi skilled technician was declared open by Addl. Secretary, Labour and Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Kovi Meyase at Kohima Village on September 5.

A DIPR report stated that speaking at the programme, Meyase said that the Department has been working towards the youth in various technical and vocational trades with the sole focus to promote employable and self-employment amongst the youth. He also said that this multi skilled technician program was designed in an innovative way to skill the youth for multiple jobs roles so as to make them skilled and able to perform multiple jobs as per demand and thereafter go on to sustain a decent livelihood.

The inaugural program was chaired by the Deputy Director, Zubemo Lotha Tsanglao while short speeches were delivered by Kohima Village Gazetted Officers’ Association, President, Medozhalie Pienyu and Chairman NBOCW, Kekhrie Yhome.

A total of 40 youths will be skilled from different villages in Kohima district.

Jakhama: The inaugural programme for demand driven skill development under construction sector was held on September 5 at Town Hall, Jakhama with Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports, Er Zale Neikha as the special guest.

Speaking at the programme, Er Zale encouraged the trainees to be sincere, punctual and dedicated while taking up the skill training provided by the department. 

Labour and Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Secretary, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS and Director, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Chiden Yaden also spoke at the programme. Introductory speech was given by Chairman, Zynorigue Initiative Society, Richard Belho.

The programme was chaired by Regional Employment Officer, Zuthunglo Ezung while welcome address was delivered by SDO Civil Jakhama, Ruopfukuotuo Noudi.

The week-long training programme is being organised by the department of Labour and Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in collaboration with Zynorigue Initiative Society.
