
Dimapur, May 30 (MExN): More students’ bodies and organisations joined others today in denouncing the vandalisation of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) in the Naga Club Building Kohima on May 27.
ANSAM: The office of the All Naga Students' Association Manipur (ANSAM) castigated the obnoxious act and said that such action has not only challenged the determination of the Nagas but assaulted the Naga history and the pioneering Naga leaders who have been bravely defending the rights of the Nagas from sinister designs.
The Association further urged the concerned authority to take necessary actions against the perpetrators at the earliest.
While reaffirming its selfless and relentless efforts for strengthening the NSF office with a vision for Unified Lim of the Nagas, the ANSAM also extended its fullest support and cooperation to befitting resolutions adopted by the Federation in the best interests of the Nagas.
The ANSAM also assured its unwavering support to the Federation in the collective endeavour to rebuild not only in the physical building of NSF office but also the Naga Nation.
Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun: The Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun also denounced the vandalisation as “barbaric act” and appealed to the law enforcing agencies to arrest the perpetrators at the earliest and bring forth in the public domain the fugitives involved in the crime.
It also urged every right thinking Naga citizen to come forward against such Anti-Naga elements. The Kunpun also completely endorsed the NSF in solving the issue and it will also render our support in whatever way possible, it said.
Mao Students’ Union: The Mao Students’ Union (MSU) condemned the “outrageous and abhorrent act” as well as stated the its “condemnation and disgust are further compounded by the existence of such anti Naga elements within our own Naga society and the wicked power it yields of causing such antagonism.”
“The historic building has been a citadel for the long struggled Naga movement; it is an institution for the young Naga leaders spanning across pan Naga homeland,” it said.
Accordingly, while commiserating with the Naga Students’ Federation, the MSU reaffirmed its unflinching support and solidarity along with the rest of the Nagas by adding: We join with the federation in-toto, along with all the right thinking Naga citizens in absolute condemnation and stands for complete justice.”
NUTA: The Nagaland University Teacher’s Association (NUTA) said that it was “dismayed and disturbed” to see the vandalism carried out at the office of NSF and ANCSU and the ‘destruction of the Naga Heritage building, the symbol of Naga aspiration for self governance by some miscreants.’ The unthoughtful action has not only destroyed the properties but has downgraded the image of our own highest student’s body or organisation as “ we lost some important historical monuments and records in the process of their tussles,” it said.
Accordingly, the NUTA advocated the “development should be given the highest priority rather than resorting to violence in future.
Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong: The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) also denounced the vandalisation and stated that such “kind of unpatriotic acts of anti-Naga elements as an agenda to detriment the spirit of Naga Nationalism by the oppressors.”
“Any action that tries to sabotage the fabric of Naga nation must be arrested at the earliest and awarded befitting punishment,” it said and urged the concerned authority to take necessary actions.
“The TKS stands with the NSF at this challenging moment, while calling for strengthening and building the Naga nation,” it added.
