Mon, February 22 (MExN): Parliamentary Secretary for Rural Development CL John formally inaugurated the new office building of District Evaluation Officer, Mon on February 20.
Speaking at the function, the chief guest called upon the departmental officials to discharge their official duties with punctuality, sincerity and humbleness under the new office building. Emphasizing on cleanliness and ownership of Government properties, CL John termed the peons, chowkidars and the sweepers as the real owners of the office, and said that the management of the building, to protect and to maintain cleanliness, would become impossible without their sincere service. He appealed to the employees to adopt sanitation in the office and set example to other employees of other offices and at the same time to discharge their respective duties with utmost sincerity for the people.

Stressing on the activities of the evaluation department, he said the department has a major role to play for developmental scheme for evaluating even the highest offices of the district like DC and SP offices and urged upon the departmental officials to assist the people of Mon to avail the service of the department in the developmental process.
Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Angau I Thou, IAS, said that the evaluation department is a crucial department to carry the developmental activities of the Government in the right perspectives. She asserted that the department is an independent body to study and formulate various developmental schemes of the government and provide suggestions to the policy makers. It is a department to retrospect the development of the past, redefine the present and shape the future, she added. She was also optimistic that the department under the new DVO and with separate new building would discharge their activities with utmost satisfaction and cater to the needs of the people. She also urged upon the public to have a sense of ownership of government properties in the district.
Director, Evaluation, Kevileno Angami, in her welcome address, stressed on the activities of the department. She said that the primary duty of the department is to supervise whether the developmental activities of the government reach the people or not. In Mon, the department was functioning under the Malkhana of the Deputy Commissioner. She said the proposal for a separate office building was urged by the DVO to enable them to function smoothly for the welfare of the people.
The Deputy Commandant, VG, Mon Chingshom and DVO, Mon also delivered short speech. Earlier, Pastor KBCM proposed invocation prayer while Huhie Zeliang, Assistant Director, Evaluation, pronounced vote of thanks. The function was presided over by W. Chubala, Joint Director, Evaluation.
