Departmental examination for ad-hoc LDAs

Dimapur, May 12 (MExN): The ad-hoc or contract LAD employees under the DPC (PHED), Government of Nagaland, have a little ray of hope for regularization of their job in the department after their long battle for the same as the department will be conducting a departmental examination for them on May 29 next.

A press note issued by the Additional Chief Engineer and Convenor, Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC), PHED Mhondamo Ovung stated that the move to conduct the examination or regularization of the existing ad-hoc/ contract LDAs of the department will be conducted at the Zonal Council Hall Kohima at 10 o’clock in the morning on May 29 and added that this move comes in continuation to the department’s memorandum submitted earlier this year in March 16 and 26.

The release stated that the ad-hoc LDAs in the department are therefore offered the privilege to appear the said examination, followed by interview to assess their eligibility and credibility for absorption into regular cadre of the department.

Giving a highlight of the terms and conditions of the departmental examination, the release stated that the examination will consist of  a written part which will be on general knowledge, general English and office procedure, and will carry a total mark of 70 percent, while the interview on personality test will follow the written examination which will carry a total mark of 15 percent.

Annual Confidential Report (ACR) for the last three years i.e. 2004, 2005, 2006 will carry 15 percent of the total marks. Therefore, the release informed all intending candidates to bring the ACRs and submit it to the Examination Board, on the day of the examination if they have not yet submitted. The release also informed that the intending candidates are required to produce the original photo copies and submit photocopies of their first appointment order, stating that no call letters will be issued for the examination and that the admission into the examination hall shall be denied without the possession of an original copy of the first appointment order.

Further, any clarification or information with regards to this matter can be obtained from the PHED Directorate; through the Superintending Engineer (M&I) Cell, during office hours, the release informed, and at the same time warned that canvassing in any form for regularization and posting will automatically amount to disqualification of the candidate.
