Dept questions on poor road connectivity

Phek, March 11 (DIPR): The Phek DPDB meeting was held on March 11 under the chairmanship of Advisor Science & Technology, Art & Culture, New and Renewable Energy, Deo Nukhu. The meeting began with presentation of departmental activities by Transport (motor vehicles) and NST department. The Chairman in his remark called the departments to ensure that NST bus services are promptly given for connecting the various sub-divisions and towns to Phek adding that Meluri to Phek service should be run on alternate days. On the poor road connectivity between Phek to Chojouba, which was hampering NST bus service, he questioned PWD (R & B) department why the road had not been completed even after finance has been sanctioned by the government since two years back under NLCPR. The Executive Engineer PWD (R & B) was further directed to explain on the matter in the next meeting.
Other matters, which were discussed, included the following: The Board approved for issue of Zonal Taxi Permit to ply from Phek to Dimapur. It was further decided that henceforth from now on any individual seeking taxi permit should be routed through the Regional Transport Authority Phek and not through the Board. On non-issuance of Zonal Taxi Permit even after approval from the DPDB, the Chairman noted that he would write to the authorities concerned for expediting the matter.
Approval to three beneficiaries for providing two power tillers and one tractor under CM Corpus Fund (state pool) 2010-11 were also agreed. Contribution of 2% of one-month salary from all government servants under Phek district (excluding Meluri Sub-division) to Chakhesang Students Union for hosting NSF General Conference was also accepted. It was also agreed to grand financial assistant to the 'dobashis' from the common pool fund in view of the forthcoming Golden Jubilee Celebration. The SBI Phek and PWD (R & B) were directed to give presentation on departmental activities in the next meeting.
