DIMAPUR, May 23 (MExN): The order, reportedly from N Kitovi Zhimomi, terminating the membership of Alezo Venuh in the GPRN/NSCN was followed by another. The order was issued on May 21.
On May 23, the GPRN/NSCN issued a press release cautioning Zhimomi against using the nomenclature, seal and the designation he held while with the organisation and desisting “from any kind of defamatory camping against the officials.”
The release from the GPRN/NSCN’s Ministry of Information and Publicity contained an order from the office of the President, General (retired) MB Neokpao Konyak and Speaker, National Tatar Hoho, GPRN/NSCN Ritsa Sangtam. It held that Zhimomi was barred from “using the designation of Ato Kilonser/General Secretary of GPRN/NSCN (Unification) and as well stand prohibited from making any official correspondences or communications under the guise of the Ato Kilonser/General Secretary of GPRN/NSCN (Unification)” beginning with the date of his impeachment on April 21.
It maintained that Zhimomi’s impeachment was based on the “unanimous decision of the National Tatar Hoho and the Council of Kilonsers” contrary to what it said was allegations made by the former.
It further said that the GPRN/NSCN has taken serious note of what it held were “unwarranted acts” allegedly committed by Zhimomi following his impeachment on April 21 and subsequent expulsion from the primary and active membership of the organisation on May 15. It however did not make mention of the order, dated may 21, allegedly issued by Zhimomi.
The GPRN/NSCN heads the Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups, which signed the Agreed Position with the Government of India in November 2017.
The GPRN/NSCN impeached its Ato Kilonser, N Kitovi Zhimomi on April 21, replacing him with Alezo Venuh, leading to the current leadership tussle. Before his instatement as the Ato Kilonser, Venuh’s role was Special Envoy to the Collective Leadership.
