Developmental activities possible through unity: Chief Minister Rio

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today maintained that developmental activities are possible through the channel of good leadership and unity.

Inaugurating Rüsoma village council hall at Rüsoma village under Kohima district, Rio lauded the leadership qualities of Rüsoma Village Council, Village Development Board and unity of the villagers, which led to the fruition of the various developmental activities within the village.

He called upon the villagers to take team spirit as their strength to reach greater heights and take pride as proud citizens of Rüsoma.

Stating that various projects and schemes have been designed by the government for a progressive society, he however, reminded the people that, when there is no trustworthiness and good leadership, it would land into hurdle in execution.

In this, he called upon Rüsoma villagers to continue to exercise mutual understanding, peace, unity and good leadership for all round development.

The Chief Minister also praised Rüsoma for making headway in economic development as well as in education sector.  
Rüsoma has produced 44 gazetted officers so far, which ranked 3rd after Kohima village and Chiechama village in Northern Angami area.

Rio informed that the construction of Farmers’ Market for Northern Angami villages near Indira Gandhi  Stadium Kohima is on the verge of completion and likely to be operational by January 2023.

He called upon the farmers to take advantage of this facility and increase the level of agri and horticulture production.

Rio also challenged the sports lovers to take up sports with seriousness, reminding that it should be taken as full time job henceforth and not as a part time anymore.

“You have talent,” he said and urged upon the youth to rededicate themselves to become proficient in different sport disciplines.

Rüsoma Village Development Board Secretary, Visier Vimera acknowledged the support of the Chief Minister of Nagaland and all other agencies and individuals towards the completion of the village council hall.

He said that apart from the council hall on the top floor, the ground floor will house 5 offices, 3 guest rooms and toilet facility. There is also a provision for kitchen.

Earlier, Rüsoma Village Council chairman, Kehouchükhrie Mezhier delivered the welcome address.

The programme also witnessed Tati pfhe, special song by Rüsoma CRC CYE and folk song from Rüsoma Village Youth & Sports Association. Rev Khrie-o Mezhü, pastor, Rüsoma Christian Revival Church invoked God’s blessing.

The programme was chaired by Kekhrie Pfukha, President, Angami Youth Organization while vote of thanks was proposed by Rüsoma head GB, Kruzolie Zhale.

Youth Resources & Sports, Advisor, Er Zale Neikha, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Advisor, Dr Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire, Technical Education and Elections, Advisor, Medo Yhokha, MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro and several other dignitaries were also present at the inaugural function.
