DGAR to review security situation, related issues of AR in Nagaland

Dimapur, January 3 (MExN): The DGAR Lt Gen Rameshwar Roy, AVSM, YSM is on three days maiden visit to Nagaland to review the security situation and the other related issues of Assam Rifles from January 2 to 4. He was received by Maj Gen Sandeep Singh, SM, VSM, IGAR (N).
During his visit, the DGAR was briefed by IGAR (N) on security situation in Nagaland and Assam Rifles related issues. The DGAR will be paying homage in the Kohima War Cemetery to the bereaved soldiers and shall also be briefed by Sect Cdrs during his visit to Chieswema and Tuensang, informed a press note from Lt Col RP Velu, PRO, IGAR (N).
It also stated that Gen Rameshwar Roy was commissioned into the 7th Battalion of Jammu & Kashmir Rifles. The Officer has served in all types of weather, terrain and operational conditions.
The note also went on saying that he has seen active service in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Mizoram, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. He has varied and wide experience in instructional, command and staff appointments. He has commanded 7th Battalion Jammu & Kashmir Rifles in Jammu Sector, an Infantry Brigade in Kashmir Valley, an Infantry Division on the Line of Control and a Corps in CI ops in Jammu & Kashmir. The General Officer is a graduate from Defence Service Staff College and has attended Higher Command Course. He is a fellow of National Defence College, New Delhi.
