Maligaon, May 11 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has upgraded the Dibrugarh–New Delhi Rajdhani Express with a brand new Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) rake, effective from May 10, in a move aimed at enhancing passenger comfort and travel experience.
The newly inducted rake features refreshed interiors, improved aesthetics, and modern suspension systems designed to ensure a smoother and safer ride. While the coach design remains largely unchanged, the upgrade brings tangible improvements in reliability and onboard experience.
"The new rake is built to the latest standards in furnishings, passenger amenities, and safety features. This upgrade is part of Indian Railways’ ongoing efforts to modernize its rolling stock and provide world-class services," the NFR stated in a press release issued Sunday.
The Dibrugarh–New Delhi Rajdhani Express is a critical link between the northeastern region and the national capital, serving a wide range of travelers. The previous rake had been in service for several years and had seen considerable wear over time.
The NFR said the replacement is not only about aesthetics but also about performance and service delivery. “The deployment of the new LHB rake on this flagship train is a reflection of NFR’s commitment to improving the passenger experience and aligning with Indian Railways’ broader vision for modernization,” it said.
The upgraded rake is expected to offer better upkeep and overall comfort, reinforcing the Rajdhani’s reputation as one of India’s premium long-distance services.
