Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged for a second consecutive day on October 26, providing some relief to consumers reeling under spiralling fuel rates in the recent past.
Accordingly, on Tuesday, in the public sector Indian Oil Corporation Limited’s (IOCL) outlets across Nagaland, petrol and diesel were retailing at same rates as in October 24.
In Tuensang, petrol was available for Rs 109.33 per litre while going for Rs 101.48 a litre on Tuesday.
In State Capital Kohima, a litre of petrol was Rs 106.94 and that of diesel at Rs 99.28 per litre.
In Dimapur, petrol and diesel were respectively retailing at Rs 105.94 and Rs 98.47 on October 26.
Fuel rates highest in Tuensang and lowest in Dimapur, data available on the official IndianOil One App informed.
After petrol in July, diesel is now retailing above Rs 100-a-litre in 8 out of 12 districts in Nagaland with the recent hikes. It is available below the threshold only in four districts - Wokha, Kohima, Peren and Dimapur.
Diesel prices have now increased on 24 out of the last 31 days while petrol rates have increased on 21 of the previous 27 days, the IANS news agency on October 26.
Crude price has been on a surge rising over a three-year high level of over $86 a barrel as global demand remains firm while OPEC+ continues to move s lowly on increasing production, it said.
Since September 5, the price of petrol and diesel in the international market is higher by around $9-10 per barrel as compared to average prices during August, it added.
