Dignataries, orgs mourn educationist Yajen Aier demise

Dimapur, April 8 (MExN): Dignitaries and various organizations have mourned the demise of late Yajen Aier, who was the first Naga Director of School Education and died this morning after brief illness. People remember late Yajen Aier for his constructive contributions to the Naga society especially in the field of education.

Chief Minsiter of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio
The Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has mourned the demise of Yajen Aier, a renowned educationist and the first Naga Director of School Education Department of Nagaland early this morning after a brief illness. The CM stated in a condolence note said that the demise of Yajen Aier, a well-respected senior citizen is not only an irreparable loss to the family members but also to the entire Naga people and particularly the Aos. “At this hour of sorrow and grief, my wife joins me in conveying our deepest condolences to the near and dear ones and all the members of the bereaved family,” the note said.

Home Minister of Nagaland Imkong L Imchen
The Home Minister of Nagaland, Imkong L Imchen in a condolence note has stated that he was shocked to learn the sudden demise of Yajen Aier, who was a fatherly figure in various field of the Naga society. He was pioneer in many fields especially in Economics. Late Yajen Aier was father of Rev. Wati Aier. “Even though his mortal remains is not with us, his wisdom will always cherished by the Naga people for many years to come. My family and I convey our sincere and heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family.”   

Nagaland State NCP president Neiba Ndang
The Nagaland State Nationalist Congress Party president Neiba Ndang has condoled the demise of Yajen Aier. In a condolence message, Neiba Ndang has attributed late Yajen Aier as a dedicated educationist who headed the Education Department as one of the first Director. He has also described late Yajen Aier as the architect of the Education Department in Nagaland. He lamented that in losing him, Nagas have lost a great educationist. He has prayed to Almighty God to grant strength and comfort to the bereaved family in their hour of grief and sorrow.

Ao Kaketshir Mungdang
The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) in a commiseration message has stated that it was shocked to hear the demise of late Yajen Aier of Mopungchuket village “who was a true son of the Ao soil”. “In his death, Nagas has lost a great leader who’s absence will always be felt by the Nagas. In this hour of grave and sorrow, the AKM has expressed its deepest sympathy to the bereaved family members ,” stated the AKM.

Rashtra Bhasha Hindi training Institute, Dimapur
The students, faculties and the governing body of Rashtra Bhasha Hindi training Institute, Dimapur have expressed deepest sympathy to the bereaved family of late Yajen Aier. In a condolence note, it stated that he was the chairman of institute’s governing body. “For us, he was the torch bearer in promotion of Hindi, a friend, philosopher and a guide. The void he created after his death cannot be filled. Such an extraordinary man, born only one among million.”

Nagaland Peace Centre
The Nagaland Peace Centre, Kohima has mourned the demise of Yajen Aier. “He was a man of God and peace. He was a profound scholar and educationist. His contributions towards building of non-violence and social order found to be highly appreciated. He was engaged in peace works and acted as chairman, Kohima Peace Committee,” stated a condolence note. It has conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members.

GRPN/NSCN has mourned the dead of Yajen Aier, who was also the father of Rev. Dr. Wati Aier, FNR Convenor. “His passing away is a huge loss to the Naga society because he was an unshakable man who believed in mounding Naga society through education and correct philosophy of life. A man of vision and a fatherly figure to thousands of Nagas, he imparted the spirit of love, peace and oneness of Nagas to his children and to those who came in contact with him. GPRN/NSCN acknowledges the profound legacy of peace and brotherhood that he passed onto his children and grandchildren. This remarkable gentleman will not be with us physically but his gentle life shall continue to inspire generations. May the Good Lord comfort his soul and grand courage to the entire family members in this hour of grief and pain,” stated the GPRN/NSCN in a condolence note.

Khonoma Rüffüno Nagaland
The Khonoma Rüffüno Nagaland  has condoled the demise of Yajen Aier, Retd Director of Education, Nagaland. Late Yajen Aier was a renowned personality and a man of principle who has served the Naga people with unmatched dedication in the field of education and in various Church and social organizations. His demise is a loss to all Nagas which is difficult to fill again. In this hour of grief, we convey our heartfelt condolences to all family members and relatives, it stated in a condolence note.

Naga Council Dimapur
The Naga Council Dimapur in a sondolence note has stated that it is “deeply pained” to learn of the demise of Yajen Aier. Late Yajen Aier served the public of Dimapur in the capacity of Vice President Naga Council Dimapur during 1978-80 and later officiated as president for a brief period.  He was a man of principle and as leader of the frontal organization in an emerging commercial hub with a complex character, he promoted peace and harmony amongst all sections in Dimapur’s multi-cultural society. “In this hour of grief, we convey our heartfelt condolences to all family members."
