Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): Dikhoi Village Council has issued a clarification in regard to the question of the village affirming to “fight” the alleged encroachment into the village by the army at Rangapahar. The “fight” was to be under the chairmanship of one Phelutso as carried in the local media on April 22.
A note from the council’s chairman Th. Silungbo Zeliang stated that villagers of Dikoi under the landownership of Pranio, Head GB “hereby declared that the villagers are not vow to fight army nor any person even our neighbor.” Instead the villagers are to “have co-peaceful atmosphere maintain good understanding with our neighbor unless other vow to fight with us.” The council’s note mentioned that a minute of the meeting issued by Phelutso stating that Dikoi village is a recognized Angami village “is baseless and wrong impression.” Dikoi village is never a single Angami village but belongs to Tenyimia community as a whole; that no particular community can claim the ownership of this village” the council stated. The council also slammed as baseless and ‘completely wrong’ the allegations that one Pranio, head GB was engaged in illegal allotment of land without the consent of the village council. The five members chosen from the Tenyimia tribes also is a self-styled group formed by Phelutso, it stated.
The village council has appealed to all concern not to be confused and “believe whatever articles published by one Mr. Phelutso and his group because he is a self-style chairman heading self-style council” He is creating confusion, misunderstanding and sowing seeds of ‘ism’ in the Tenyimia community, the council appealed and advised Phelutso not to go any further and exercise restrain from misleading the Tenyimia people.
