
Dimapur, May 28 (MExN): Dikoi village in Dimapur district in a representation to the Deputy Commissioner Dimapur has appealed the latter to ratify “Prarü stream” as its boundary with that of Aoyimkum village.
The Dikoi village today appealed the DC Dimapur to ratify “the boundary between both the Dikoi village and Aoyimkum village with Prarü stream” as indicated in an earlier order dated September 15, 1988 by the office of the DC Dimapur.
The DC Dimapur in the representation was reminded that “while temporary map was drawn by the revenue department between Nagaland and Assam during 1988-89, the surveyors clearly indicated that Prarü stream is the demarcated boundary between the two villages.”
In assurance of the ratification of “the newly boundary demarcation between both the two villages on 13.10.08” the village state that it would withdraw the “objection letter” which it claimed stood against Aoyimkum village.
In another case, also concerning Dikoi village, a disputed land of 77 Acres belonging to Dikoi village is in possession of the Indian Army stationed at Rangapahar Dimapur. The DC Dimapur has been appealed to ensure the return of the disputed land from the possession of the army. “We can withdraw the case at any time if our prayer is settled amicably from outside the court,” the representation to the DC Dimapur further stated.
The village reminded the DC Dimapur that this is the “third and final reminder” for ratification of the boundary with Aoyimkum village, and to return the 77 acres of Dikoi land from the possession of the Army.
The letter to the DC Dimapur was appended by Dikoi village chairman Phelutso Angami, secretary Azho Zao, GB KV Aba, VDB secretary Niesahu Chakhesang and Advisor, TL Angami.
